HAMMER Suit®
The HAMMER Suit® is a SARATOGA® chemical and biological warfare agent protective suit specifically designed for first responders. It was developed at the request of a major law enforcement agency familiar with the superior performance of the SARATOGA® JSLIST Suit – the onlychemical protective over garment qualified for use by the U.S. Department of
Defense.
The HAMMER Suit® is produced in the same battle-tested, two-piece configuration as the JSLIST Suit but in navy blue color, with hook and loop fastener tape on the chest and sleeve shoulders for the placement of department identification patches. It is also available as a one-piece coverall to meet the special needs of some first responders.
Since its introduction in 1998, the HAMMER Suit® has been widely accepted by law enforcement, fire, and emergency response organizations to meet their needs for protection from chemical and biological warfare agents.
The HAMMER Suit® meets or exceeds the level of protection against chemical warfare agents specified in U.S. MIL-C-29462. Product testing with live chemical warfare agents at world-renowned independent test facilities validates the reliability of the SARATOGA® fabric.
JSLIST SUIT
The JSLIST (Joint Service Lightweight Integrated Suit Technology) suit is a lightweight, two-piece over garment based on the unique SARATOGA® technology.
Since 1997, it has been the only chemical and biological protective over garment approved for use by all branches of the U.S. Military.
The JSLIST suit was adopted by the U.S. Department of Defense as the result of an extremely rigorous and comprehensive four-year test and evaluation program. In that program, 57 different fabric combinations were tested against all classes of chemical warfare agents. In addition to extensive laboratory testing with live chemical warfare agents and other contaminants, the test and evaluation program included live fire exercises designed to accurately replicate the most challenging battlefield conditions, and operational wear trials in arctic, tropic, woodland, and desert climates.
Only one material combination was found to meet all program requirements –
the SARATOGA® JSLIST suit.
